Music Production Youth Workshop
Delve into music production techniques in a state-of-the-art Music Technology Lab at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is for middle and high school students only.

About the event
The workshop will be held in a state-of-the-art Music Technology Lab on the beautfiul campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Students will learn:
- Creating original sounds using synthesis
- Electronic Composition
- Recording and Mixing Techniques
- Music Business 101 - The basics of copyrights & synchronization licensing
The workshop culminates with a presentation featuring a surprise special guest.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Craig Brandwein is an Assistant Professor of Music Technology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has been in the music business for over 40 years as an accomplished musician, composer, songwriter, producer, and engineer. He has composed music for network television (CBS, NBC, and ABC), corporate clients, and musical theatre. Brandwein's credits include Composer and Music & Sound Supervisor. In 2010, he received an Emmy nomination for music composition and arranging, as well as in 2011, a Telly Award and a 2012 "People's Choice" Telly Award for a promotional video. He is also a staff producer, songwriter, and Vice President for Center Sound Productions.
