Our Story

Igniting Creative Powerhouses Through Purposeful Action

The name "Poze Bazaar" carries a powerful meaning - celebrating one's position as a powerhouse in their gifts and talents. This philosophy became the foundation for an organization that would transform Birmingham's artistic landscape through intentional, values-driven action.

Founded by La'Vinnia Holliday and Lannell Truss in 2017 and achieving 501(c)(3) status in 2021, Poze Bazaar Foundation has been transforming Birmingham's youth through innovative arts education. What began as a vision to empower young creators has evolved into a comprehensive approach guided by our S.E.R.V.E. core values - Sustainability, Empowerment, Responsibility, Volunteerism, and Excellence. These aren't just words on a page; they're the foundation of everything we do.

Our S.E.R.V.E. values translate into measurable transformation:

150+ Students have participated in free to low-cost workshops, discovering confidence and creative voice through our comprehensive programming.
$10,000+ Awarded in scholarships and grants to college students and teaching artists, removing financial barriers to artistic pursuit.
3+ Children sponsored to receive free counseling at Prescott House, extending our impact beyond arts into holistic youth support.
Strategic Partnerships with organizations like The Dance Foundation, UAB, Alabama A&M University, Prescott House, and Build UP School amplify our reach and deepen our community impact.
